What Does “Remove Spaces” Mean?
To remove spaces is to delete every gap between the words — every space, every tab, and every line break — so the text becomes one unbroken string of characters. For example, “hello world” becomes “helloworld”.
Say it plainly, because this is the whole point of the page: this tool removes ALL spaces. It does not tidy double spaces into single ones. If your text has two spaces between two words and you want one, this is the wrong tool for that job. But if you want every space gone — for a password, a username, a code, a file name — this is exactly the right one.
This page opens with the Remove Spaces tool already selected, so you do not have to hunt for the right button. Paste your text, and the spaces are gone at once.
How to Use This Space Remover
- Paste or type your text in the box above.
- Remove Spaces is already selected — just check the result.
- Copy it with one click, or download it as a text, PDF, Word or Excel file. You can also upload a whole file (PDF, Word, Excel or CSV) and remove the spaces from every line inside it at once.
Remove Spaces Rules (the Simple Version)
| What the text has | What happens | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Spaces between words | They are deleted | hello world → helloworld |
| Tabs | They are deleted | hello⇥world → helloworld |
| Line breaks | They are deleted too — lines join with NO space | hello↵world → helloworld |
| Double spaces | They are deleted, not collapsed to one | “hello world” → “helloworld” |
| Letters, numbers, punctuation | They do not change | “Room 101!” stays “Room 101!” |
One thing to remember: this tool only deletes whitespace. It never adds or removes letters, numbers or punctuation, and it never changes the order of your text.
Examples (checked by hand)
- “hello world” → “helloworld”
- “the quick brown fox” → “thequickbrownfox”
- “Room 101, meet me at 5 pm!” → “Room101,meetmeat5pm!”
- “hello↵world” → “helloworld” (the line break goes too — there is no space left between the words)
Notice the pattern in every example: every space, tab and line break is gone, and everything else — letters, numbers, commas, exclamation marks — is exactly where it was.
When to Use a Space Remover
Use it whenever a system refuses spaces. Passwords and usernames usually allow no spaces; codes, keys and tokens must be one unbroken string; file names and web addresses break when a space sneaks in. It is also the fix for text copied from a table or a PDF where stray spaces and tabs got mixed in — one click strips them all out.
Do not use it on normal writing. A sentence with no spaces is unreadable, and that is the point: this tool is for codes and names, not for essays and emails.
Why Use Our Space Remover?
Most free space remover pages give you a bare box and nothing else. This one gives you the same tool as our main Case Converter, with three things the thin competitor pages do not offer: upload a whole file and clean it in one go, download the result in four formats, and Find & Replace inside your text before cleaning it. It is free, it works on a phone, and nothing you paste is stored.
Frequently Asked Questions About Removing Spaces
Does this tool remove all spaces or just the extra ones?
All of them. Every space, tab and line break is deleted. If you only want double spaces tidied into single spaces, that is a different job — this tool is not the right one for it.
Will it remove line breaks too?
Yes. A line break is whitespace, so it is deleted like a space — the two lines join with no gap at all. If you want lines joined with a space instead, use a line break remover.
Will it change my letters or numbers?
No. Letters, numbers and punctuation stay exactly as they are. Only whitespace — spaces, tabs and line breaks — is removed.
Can I clean a whole document at once?
Yes. Upload a PDF, Word, Excel or CSV file, remove the spaces, and download the result. That is the feature most simple space remover pages do not have.
